How to play
A game of chess where every move costs an exercise and every captured piece brings a penalty. Even the fittest students have to think, which evens out the playing field.
- Play individually, in pairs or in teams, depending on group size and boards available.
- Move a piece, then complete its exercise: pawn 10 star jumps, rook 10 donkey kicks, knight 10 push ups.
- Bishop is 10 star jump squats, queen 20 commandos and king 20 squat thrusters.
- While thinking or waiting, players hold a static position such as a plank, squat hold or V-sit.
- When a side loses a piece, that side completes its penalty from the penalty table.
- Play until one side wins by checkmate.
