How to play
A fitness version of Simon says: students only do the exercise if the call starts with "teacher says". Maths and spelling twists add a learning focus to a quick warm-up.
- Call exercises, such as "teacher says complete 10 star jump squats". The whole group does them.
- If you leave off "teacher says" and anyone starts the exercise, the whole group runs 200 metres together.
- Add a twist: students halve or double the reps you call, or multiply them.
- Give sums to work out the reps, such as "teacher says complete 5 + 4 + 6 squat jumps".
- Call several exercises at once, ask for the 'opposite' exercise, or have students spell the exercise with one rep per letter.
