The wellbeing check between rounds
“What is the emoji question my students get asked?”
Between rounds, every student is asked one short question on their own device — how they are feeling, their energy, their focus. It takes about fifteen seconds and it is the half of the round that is not a game.
Answers are private while they are being given. The class sees how many people have answered, never what they answered, and the distribution only appears once everyone is in or you ask for it. Watching a "Not great" count tick up on the board is the fastest way to stop a child pressing it.
You will never see which child gave which answer, and neither will anyone else. If fewer than three students reply, no result is shown or stored at all — a distribution across two people identifies them.
This is a temperature check, not a screening tool. It will not flag an individual child, and it should not be the thing you rely on to notice one.
