How to play
A circuit themed on the Olympic or Commonwealth Games where each cone is an event with its own exercise. Students chase their highest score at each event, and a medal ceremony rounds it off.
- Give each student a scorecard, pen and country. Set up 8 cones, each an event with an exercise, such as High jump: squat jumps.
- On "go", students do as many reps as they can for 40 seconds, then rest 20 seconds and move on.
- Each circuit runs 8 minutes. Take a couple of minutes' break, then run the second circuit.
- To even things up, put students in mixed-ability pairs and combine their scores.
- Finish with a staggered-start 400 metre race, then hold a medal ceremony during the cooldown.
- Scale the reps, distances or time to suit your class.
You need: 8 cones, Scorecards and pens, Medicine ball and slam balls (optional; bodyweight exercises work)
