Single screen or student phones?

Do my students need devices to play?

2 MIN READ

Both modes run the same 27 games with the same rules. The difference is entirely about your room, not about the quality of the game.

SINGLE SCREEN needs nothing but your projector. The class physically stands up and sits down, which is most of the fun and all of the movement. It works in a phones-banned school, on a wet Friday with no wifi, and with a class you have never met.

LIVE ROOMS give every student a screen. They join with a code, tap to sit down individually, and answer the wellbeing check privately on their own device — which is the only way to get honest answers. You also get a per-student record afterwards.

WORTH KNOWING

If you are not sure, start with single screen. It has no failure modes: no codes, no wifi, no lost devices, and nobody hiding behind a screen.

WHAT IT WILL NOT DO

Live rooms need each student on a device with a browser. There is no way to run a live room with half the class on phones and half without — pick one mode per game.
