How to play
A calming progressive relaxation. Students lie down and tense then relax each part of the body from toes to head, breathing deeply with each release, to slow the heart rate and ease stress.
- Have students lie on the floor in a comfortable position.
- Ask them to tighten and relax their toes, taking a deep breath as they do.
- Move to the knees and tops of the legs: tighten, relax and breathe deeply.
- Continue up the body: abdomen, arms, hands, fingers, face and head.
- Remind students to breathe deeply and exhale with each muscle release. If minds wander, refocus and continue.
